Mistakes

  • Not preparing enough - Make sure you take enough time to prepare and get familiar with the materials. The test covers many subjects, so take as much time as you can to really understand each one.

  • Not planning well enough - The test can be overwhelming, so before you start studying, take some time to plan and organize your study materials. This will save you time in the long run.

  • Managing your time poorly - Make sure you stick to the time limits for each section. To do this, you should get familiar with the structure and types of questions on the test.

  • Not paying enough attention to certain sections - Remember to give every section of the test an appropriate amount of time during your study sessions. Do not ignore or delay studying for sections to ensure you aren’t surprised by how complex a section is on test day.

  • Not taking practice tests - Taking practice tests is the best way to get familiar with the structure and question types. If you can, try to simulate test conditions when you practice as well. Remember that knowing what to expect on test day is the first step towards success.

  • Not reviewing basic concepts - Review even the subjects and concepts that seem simple, especially when it comes to grammar or math rules. It is better to refresh your knowledge than to be caught by surprise during your test.

  • Rushing through questions - Remember to give yourself enough time to answer each question as correctly as possible. Rushing will make you less confident in your answers, and it will increase the chance of making simple mistakes.

  • Not making educated guesses - Instead of getting stuck on questions because you do not remember the theory, try using elimination and logical assumptions to help guide you to the right answer.

  • Not reading instructions carefully  - If you don’t pay attention to the instructions, you risk losing significant points by choosing the wrong answer. Remember to read the instructions carefully and re-read questions as many times as you need to.
