How do I register for the TEAS?

Here's a Guide to Registering for the TEAS Exam

Determine Your Preferred Testing Location

The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) exam can be taken in various locations:

  • Educational Institutions - Many nursing and allied health programs offer the TEAS on their campuses.

  • PSI Testing Centers - ATI collaborates with PSI to avail the TEAS at designated testing facilities across various regions.

  • Remote Online Proctoring - ATI offers an online proctoring option if you prefer to take the test from the comfort of your home. More details are available on ATI's official website.

Set Up an ATI Account

To sign up for the TEAS, you first need to have an ATI account:

  • Visit the ATI Testing website.

  • Search for the "Create an Account" link and click on it.

  • Accurately fill out the required personal details. Your full name should match the one on your identification, which you will present on the exam day.

How to Register for the TEAS Exam

  • Access your ATI account using your login credentials.

  • Find and click on the 'Online Store' or a similar section.

  • From the dropdown or available options, select 'TEAS'.

  • Determine your test venue by inputting the educational institution's name or opting for a PSI testing center.

  • Opt for a suitable date and time slot from the available choices.

  • Process the payment. Fees might differ based on venue and other particulars. On average, expect to pay around $115.

Getting Ready for the Exam Day

  • Review the confirmation email you'll receive post-registration. This email will encompass critical details such as the venue, test timing, and additional guidelines.

  • Be aware of the ID prerequisites. A government-issued photo ID, like a passport or driver's license, is mandatory. Make sure the name on your ID aligns with your ATI account details.

  • Familiarize yourself with the policies on rescheduling and refunds to be prepared for unexpected situations.

Seek Special Accommodations if Needed

If you have a disability and require special accommodations, we highly recommend getting in touch with ATI or the testing center as soon as possible.

Please bear in mind that additional documentation and registration may be required to make sure that your needs are fully addressed.

Confirm Your Registration Details

To avoid any last-minute issues:

  • Revisit your ATI account several days before the exam.

  • Reconfirm your exam details, like the date, time, and venue.

Plan Your Arrival at the Test Center

Ensure you get to the test center a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start time. This buffer will aid in the smooth check-in process and allow you to relax before starting.

Essentials for the Test Day

  • Identification - Your government-issued photo ID.

  • Confirmation - While not mandatory, having a copy of your confirmation email or letter might be valuable.

  • Allowed Items - Familiarize yourself with the permitted items list. Personal calculators aren't allowed; however, you'll be given a calculator, scratch paper, and a pencil.

Stay Updated

We highly suggest you develop a routine of checking your email or logging into your ATI account regularly, as it will keep you well-informed and current on critical information or updates relevant to your upcoming test. By doing so, you'll be fully prepared and ready to overcome any potential difficulties or challenges that may arise during the testing procedure.
